The Feel Different view
Make the pattern visible before you demand a solution.
It may sound like: “Do not try. You will fail anyway.” “It has to be perfect.” “Everybody will see.” “You are not enough.” It can make withdrawal feel wise and delay feel safe. But the strategy creates the very paralysis it claims to prevent. A mistake becomes an identity verdict. A possibility becomes a threat. The person is left trying to prove that the critic is wrong instead of living their life.
Start by seeing what it is trying to protect you from and which strategy it is using. Then hear the exact Source Code that gives the pressure force. The long-term direction in Feel Different is a constructive critic: useful, accurate feedback that does not attack your worth.
A key distinction
The task is not to defeat the critic in a shouting match.
When the critic becomes loud, write: “It is trying to protect me from…” Then write: “Its strategy is…” You may find perfectionism, prediction, comparison, or pre-emptive defeat. Naming the strategy is different from agreeing with it.
Continue Project Anxiety
Follow the part of the pattern you recognise.
A clear boundary
Project Anxiety is coaching and educational material. It is not a diagnosis, treatment, or replacement for qualified clinical care. If anxiety is severe, escalating, linked to self-harm, trauma symptoms, inability to function, or immediate danger, seek qualified local clinical or emergency support.
